Sodom and Gomorrah had no Bible

Jesus says something extraordinary in the Bible.  He had just finished visiting a town called Capernaum where He preached and did miracles but the people of that town didn’t care and it didn’t move them or change their hearts towards God.

“And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were per-formed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have re-mained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you." Matthew 11:23-24

The comparison between places was not how evil they seemed, but basically how much opportunity for good they rejected. If Jesus had gone to Sodom instead of Capernaum the results would have been very different.

Here is a thought to challenge us - What comparison is there between us who have a Bible and all the opportunities in the world to serve God, and between Sodom and Gomorrah who didn’t have a Bible?
